Instead, thanks to you, we have become America's favorite wooden train toy maker ... quite an accomplishment when you consider Whittle toys have never been available at mass market mega-retailers.

The Whittle Way

At Whittle, we pride ourselves on the relationships we continue to have with all the people who carry our products. No doubt, that's a bit old-fashioned, but as you might guess, we kind of like things that way.

Perhaps that's why, to this day, we maintain a no minimum order policy. We purposely avoid marketing campaigns designed to encourage consumers to buy directly from us. We continue to replace any broken or damaged toys your customers may bring in…of course, on a nationwide basis, that only happens around ten times per year.

Here are some other terms and conditions you should know about prior to selling Whittle toys:

  • Our cars are shipped in either individual, sealed, clear plastic bags or blister packs depending on your preference.
  • The first order is always for cash, prepaid check or credit card unless previously approved for an open account. After that, Net-30 terms may be granted with appropriate credit references.
  • With the exception of AMTRAK toys, each wholesaler/dealer may set the price for any/all Whittle toys. However, we do encourage the use of MSRP.
  • AMTRAK toys must be sold at prices selected by AMTRAK, per our license agreement.
  • All shipments are either FOB Louisiana, Missouri.
  • All shipping is handled by UPS Ground unless otherwise requested by you.
  • Orders are filled as received and shipped immediately upon completion.
  • Orders delayed due to lack of inventory remain in the warehouse for no more than two weeks, prior to being shipped "as is." In this case, missing items are then backordered and shipped at no charge once available.
  • All backorders are deleted if not shipped within 60 days of initial order date.

When we talk to you for the first time, we can even offer an insight or two about what inventory you should consider when placing your first order. All you have to do is ask.

Drop-Shipping Program

The Whittle Shortline Railroad now offers a drop-shipping program for our valued dealer/wholesaler partners.

All drop-ship orders must include complete customer shipping information and dealer/wholesaler email address, as well as an identification that the order is a drop shipment (use the "shipping comment" section if placing a drop slip order on our website).

Each delivered drop shipped package will contain a packing slip, but no invoice. Whittle will provide the dealer/wholesaler with an email confirming each shipment which includes the order number, total charges, date and method shipped.

Drop shipping is only available when billed to a dealer/wholesaler's credit card. The credit card is only charged at the time of actual shipment. In addition to the wholesale cost of the toys and normal shipping costs, Whittle also collects a drop ship fee of $1.50 per shipping address. Special shipping requests must be clearly indicated; again, please use the "shipping comment" section of our website's order form.
