Can I bring my own cake and/or food? What about party favors?
Yes, but then you are also required to bring the plates, utensils, cups and napkins for whatever food items you bring. You can also bring your own party favors. Of course, to avoid all that trouble, just click here to download a Party Fact Sheet & Order Form, and we'll take care of everything for you!
Can I schedule additional "entertainers" such as clowns or balloon artists?
No. You'll be surprised how fast the time flies without that additional expense.
When should I arrive? My guests?
Please plan to arrive 20 minutes before your party starts to do any setting up in advance of your party, which always starts at the top of the hour. This is absolutely critical if you made the choice to bring your own cake, food and decorations. As far as your guests go, ten minutes is usually plenty.
Which party game should we choose?
Whether you start your party by playing "Steam Engine Piñata" or "Hot Engine" is completely up to you. However, the younger your group, the more we recommend going with the piñata.
What if there is more than one guest of honor?
Not a problem. But we still must adhere to our maximum of 18 kids. What's more, there is an additional $15.00 charge per each additional personalized birthday boxcar.
Is there a gift registry?
Yes, upon request. We do ask that the registry is provided to us prior the sending of invitations in order to avoid confusion. Of course, registry items are subject to availability.
What if my kid already has a zillion toy trains?
If you don't opt to register, then we also suggest the gift of Whittle Bucks. These festive, wooden coins make fantastic gifts and are extremely popular with young engineers of all ages!
When do I have to order cake, party food and/or party favors?
Your order for any party enhancements must be placed at least one week before your party, although you can pay for them on the day of the party.
How booked up is the your party room?
During the winter, we are typically booked ahead for about three months; during the summer, slightly less. However, it never hurts to call just to find out.
